چکیده

Microwave curing of repair patches provides an energy efficient technique for rapid concrete repair. It has serious economic potential due to time and saving especially repairs in cold weather which can cause work stoppages. However, the high temperatures resulting from combination microwave exposure accelerated hydration cementitious materials need be investigated prevent durability problems patch repairs. This paper investigates magnitude peak temperature during (MC) six cement based a CEM II mortar. Repair material specimens were cured surface 40-45 °C while their internal monitored. Their was further monitored up 24 hours order determine effect on heat hydration. The results show that short period early age increases brings forward relative control are continuously exposed ambient conditions (20 °C, 60% RH). normal density, hardening Portland with either pfa or polymer addition almost merges end period. The Effect of Curing Temperature on White Cement Hydration

Cement manufacture has undergone extensive change in its attempts to rise to the successive challenges posed by society. The hydration of Portland cement is a complex phenomenon that depends on both reagent characteristics and reaction conditions. It is a well-known fact that the curing temperature plays an important role on the hydration kinetics. The present study is the first to be undertake...

In Situ Acoustic Temperature Measurement During Variable-Frequency Microwave Curing

Variable-frequency microwave (VFM) curing can perform the same processing steps as conventional thermal processing in minutes, without compromising intrinsic material properties. With increasing demand for novel dielectrics, there is a corresponding demand for new processing techniques that lead to comparable or better properties than conventional methods. VFM processing can be a viable alterna...

Internal Curing of High-Performance Blended Cement Mortars:

In the twenty-first century, most high-performance concretes, and many other ordinary concretes, are now based on blended cements that contain silica fume, slag, and/or fly ash additions. Because the chemical shrinkage accompanying the pozzolanic and hydraulic reactions of these mineral admixtures is generally much greater than that accompanying conventional portland cement hydration, these ble...

Hydration kinetics modeling of Portland cement considering the effects of curing temperature and applied pressure

a r t i c l e i n f o A hydration kinetics model for Portland cement is formulated based on thermodynamics of multiphase porous media. The mechanism of cement hydration is discussed based on literature review. The model is then developed considering the effects of chemical composition and fineness of cement, water–cement ratio, curing temperature and applied pressure. The ultimate degree of hyd...

Influence of Mechanically Activated Electric Arc Furnace Slag on Compressive Strength of Mortars Incorporating Curing Moisture and Temperature Effects

In this study, the influence of mechanically activated electric arc furnace slag (EAFS) was investigated through compressive strength tests on 50 mm mortar cubes. The objective was to convert the wasteful EAFS into a useful binding material to reduce the cement content in concrete without compromising strength and economy. Four different groups of mortar were cast which include control mortar, ...
